Preached by Pastor Michael Gunn on July 13th, 2008

Our prayers are often soaked with ourselves, and our own needs, but when we begin to know the love of God in our lives and we connect to His mission in this world, our prayer life will begin to change, and our joy will be made complete as we see God working in the lives of others.

Giving - Part of our Worship

At Harambee, we believe that the regular, cheerful, and sacrificial giving of our finances is part of our worship of God (see 2 Cor. 8 & 9). It's not a tax (i.e. 10%), but a demonstration of the fact that everything we have comes from God, and we joyfully give it back to him for the advancement of the gospel and the Kingdom. 10% of our giving goes towards supporting church planting through the Acts 29 Network, and the rest supports the ministries and operations of Harambee (supplies, curriculum, staff, mortgage, phone bill, heat, toilet paper, etc.). In addition, on a monthly basis we collect a Benevolence offering to help those in need in our body, area, and world. We also have ongoing building project needs that we encourage people to contribute towards. All this to say that God has been and continues to be very faithful to Harambee through the giving of its people. Contributions can be made during our corporate worship gatherings on Sunday, dropped off during the week, mailed (316 S. 3rd St. Renton, WA 98057), or online (see below). Please contact giving@harambeechurch.com with any questions.
