Men
Men are naturally endowed with a spirit of adventure; all too often churches have discouraged masculine traits for a feminine interpretation of spiritual fruit. In spite of the fact that the Scripture calls men to lead in the church and the family, it is most often their women that have the makeup and resolve to fulfill this role.
Church statistics continue to reveal that it is the women that are attending our churches and doing the work of the ministry. And while we believe that women should minister their gifts in the church, we also believe that men need to step up to the roles assigned to them by God.
At Harambee, we hope to raise up, encourage, and train our men to take on their role as ministers in their homes and the church, exhibiting a godly and masculine persona that they were created for, which honors God and the women in their lives.
Our men’s ministry meets seasonally with events like “Ball ‘N’ Brauts” (Monday Night Football and fellowship) and “Pub Life,” which was designed to emulate our brothers before us who met in pubs, had a pint of their favorite beverage, and discussed theology. We also plan on creating sports teams for men to fellowship and invite friends to share in our community.
